The State Government has extended its offer of $20,000 for employers hiring staff aged between 15 and 24 years in regional areas for another eight months.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the Programme ended on 28 February but following representations from employers and regional Members of the Government, the Government has decided to extend the Youth Boost until 31 October.
The $20,000 Youth Boost employer support payment comes as part of the Government’s $100 million Back to Work programmes.
The majority of application for funding have come from small business with 367 from businesses with one to four employees, while another 610 applications were from businesses with staff of five to 19.
Already, there has been 902 applications for the Youth Boost – 365 approved across 256 employers with another 537 applications pending.
