A charity bike ride in honour of Cheryl Rogers will be passing through Morven tomorrow and finishing up at the Ellangowan Hotel in Augathella.
Cheryl Rogers is a former Charleville local and has been battling cancer since she was diagnosed six months ago.
Our local crew will leave the Charleville railway station at midday, and will meet cyclists from Roma and Toowoomba in Morven for a quick bit of hydration before moving on to the final stop.
Managers of the Ellangowan Hotel, Damien and Lisa say about 30 riders will meet at the pub for a big night of fundraising.
“We’ll have karaoke and gravy rolls and all the money raised on the night will go to Cheryl and her family to help her out with cancer treatment.
“The bike group always come up here once a year, they do their ride and then stay the night” says Lisa.
John Maris & Wayne Baker have organised the charity bike ride from Roma to Augathella, and it would be great if community members could head along to the Ellangowan Hotel to help raise money for Cheryl and congratulate our local cyclists on such an impressive effort.
