New mayoral candidates 2016
The race for Murweh Shire Council’s next mayor is on! Mayor Dennis Cook is facing two new opponents for the local government elections: John Jones and Annie Liston.
First youth council meeting
The first Youth Council meeting for the year took place with a new chairperson elected. Guest Speaker Senior Constable Sarah Grayson made an appearance to discuss the upcoming Blue Light Boxing, Legends of League and NRL Country Week.
Goat works update
Local government leaders from Murweh and Bourke met in Cunnamulla last week to discuss the construction of the Bourke Goat abattoir and its possible tourism partnership.
Charleville health bonanza
A number of specialised health services have been brought much closer to home, providing 60 patients from across the south west cataract surgery over the past week.
