A group of students and teachers have got together to do their bit towards celebrating QLD Women’s Week.
Charleville State High School is filled with inspirational and hardworking students and teachers, and the painting was all about recognising them.
“The theme this year is good for her, great for us and the idea of the circle is its a circle of women all celebrating each other.
“We’re celebrating all of the achievements of our females and it’s very important to encourage the students to achieve and succeed,” says Jennifer Peacock, Youth Support Coordinator.
The large canvas sat out in the playground for everyone to see today, as the high school wrapped up their women’s week celebrations.
“We’ve got all the females in the school to paint a little bit of the painting, and then we’ve got them to sign…and that includes the female staff as well.
“We’d like to find a nice special spot for it to go so that everybody can look at it and remember that we participated in QLD Women’s Week,” says Mrs. Peacock.
Staff members were also treated to a special morning tea to show appreciation to the work they do with the students.
The artwork is a great reminder to the school community, and to visitors, that our local women are very special.
