The Angellala Creek bridge is finished and well and truly open for action.
So come on Murweh, let’s get together and give her a name!
The Department of Transport and Main Roads want our help, and they want to pick a name that helps commemorate the ANZAC Spirit given we are currently experiencing the centenary (2014 – 2018).
As most of us know, the bridge was destroyed in a truck explosion back in September of 2014.
They say possible names could honour an individual, group or even an event that represents South West Queensland and recognises the commitment and sacrifice made 100 years ago.
There are some rules however. The name cannot be:
– a product
– an existing company or organisation’s name or activity
– another Queensland bridge’s name (contact SouthWest.firstname.lastname@example.org to see if a name already exists)
In order to be in the running, name suggestions must be submitted by Friday 1 July 2016.
Your nomination form and supporting documentation can be submitted either by email or post.
