Murweh Shire Council has secured $3,000 in State Funding for its “Welcome to Charleville” event.
The funds come as part of the State’s $701,000 bucket of grants to help celebrate 113 multicultural events throughout Queensland in 2018.
Multicultural Affairs Minister Stirling Hinchliffe today congratulated the successful recipients of the events round of the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland (CMQ) grants program.
“Queenslanders come from more than 200 different cultural backgrounds, speak more than 220 languages and follow over 100 faiths.”

the CMQ program includes a further $300,000 in funding for multicultural projects in 2018, with applications to open shortly.
Current funding for multicultural event and project grants through the CMQ program are also set to double from next year-Meaning a total of $6 million will be available for multicultural events and projects over three years from 2018-19.
