Ms Enoch said the new ad – to air from this week – was part of the Government’s Go Local campaign promoting economic growth and local jobs.
“This commercial shows money spent supporting a local small business helps to create local jobs and supports a thriving community. We are encouraging Queenslanders to Go Local, get behind their local business owners and make a direct investment in their local community.”
Ms Enoch says the television commercial – to be backed by radio, press and digital communications – will highlight the direct relationship between supporting local small businesses and creating growth.
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of Queensland’s economy. They represent 97.4% of all businesses in the state, employ around 44 per cent of Queensland’s private sector workforce, and are vital in driving jobs and economic progress.”
“The importance of small businesses in Queensland can’t be overstated, so let’s all support small businesses by purchasing locally wherever we can.”
Ms Enoch says the campaign complemented the Palaszczuk Government’s recently announced Buy Queensland policy.
