What better way to treat our hardworking ladies then by holding a pamper day! That’s exactly what CWAATSICH are doing this Friday from 10am – 2pm.
Judi Thompson, Child and Maternal Health Worker and Health Practitioner at CWAATSICH, says this pamper day is all about looking after our local women.
“This year there is an emphasis on women’s health, because women are the backbone of our families and of the community.
“If we don’t look after ourselves then how are we supposed to look after our families.
“We always put ourselves last. We get rundown, we get crook, we just don’t take care of ourselves like we should,” she says.
CWAATSICH has been running these pamper days for 10 years but this year they are encouraging all women to check in on their health.
For those who want to attend, CWAATSICH is urging that they have their 715 ATSI Health Assessment completed. And if you have a chronic disease women must have their GP management plan completed and be attending set appointments.
“With a lot of health issues on the rise, from diabetes, to cancer, to heart attacks, obesity – we decided we’d put the health checks out there.
“We’re going to have a women’s health nurse, she’ll be there for the ladies to talk to about various issues,”
“When they first arrive they’ll get their observations done first, things like their blood pressure,” she says.
At the end of the day it’s all about taking care of our selves, and there will be plenty of things available to make sure this happens!
Everything from waxing, nails, basic hair trims, Bowen Therapy, make up and mini facials, foot spa, Reflexology, stress balls and health screening’s will be set up in the Town Hall.
Judi says there will be two Reflexologists and two Bowen Therapists attending and they’ll both have two tables each – so plenty of opportunity for everyone to have a turn.
“This is CWAATSICH’s chance to give back to the community, especially to the women in our community,”
“We’ve got some ladies who look after their husbands, so it’s just to get them out of the house and get them a little bit spoilt,” she says.
On arrival every lady will go in the run for the lucky door prize which is a $50 voucher to ‘Just Jazz Hairworks’.
Kids are most welcome, with games set up for them outside, so please bring a hat and sunscreen.
There will be a light lunch and cool drinks provided for everyone.
No need for an RSVP, so ladies, please make your way down to the Charleville Town Hall tomorrow from 10am – 2pm for a much needed day of relaxation.
