Operation Oscar Verde culminated yesterday and this morning, after nearly 6 months of police investigation.
The following information was issued to Plus More News by Charleville CIB this morning.
Operation Oscar Verde is a drug operation that has been underway since mid January 2016.
The operation was undertaken by the Charleville CIB with the assistance from local detectives and uniform staff, officers from the State Drug Investigation group, drug detection dogs from the Brisbane Dog Squad, Toowoomba District Tactical Crime Squad, Toowoomba CIB, Longreach CIB, and Cunnamulla, Augathella and Morven Police.
The investigation involved the execution of approximately 21 search warrants on addresses in Toowoomba, Charleville, Morven and Wyandra.
The use of Drug Squad dogs were an important component of the investigation, with “Turbo” and “Leroy” both trained in the detection of powdered drugs.
During these searches, police seized cash, drugs – including cannabis and methamphetamine, and a number of drug utensils.
Proceedings are being commenced on a number of persons for drug offences including trafficking and supply.
Two persons attended Charleville Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon, and further court appearances will take place today.
Operation Oscar Verde is a separate operation to North Twinzer, which came to an end in January 2016.
Plus More News will bring you further information on the final arrest figures and charges as they come to hand.
