Sporting facilities in Augathella, Charleville and Morven will each receive a share of $215, 467 for upgrades, as part of the Get Playing and Spaces grant program.
Member for Warrego, Ann Leahy, says these grants are a fantastic opportunity for small sporting clubs.
“Get Playing Places and Spaces provides funding for new or upgraded sport and recreation facility projects so that more Queenslanders can be involved in sport and active recreation.
“Eligible organisations can apply up to $100,000 (GST exclusive).
“Applicants will need to contribute a minimum of 20 per cent to the total eligible project costs, applications are submitted online and the next round opens on 1st July 2016,” Ms Leahy said.
From the funding we will be seeing new arena lighting installed at the Augathella Diggers Rodeo Association. Augathella received a total of $54, 622 from the program.
Charleville Netball will be looking to upgrade the netball court with the assistance of a $22 226 grant.
The Morven and District Tennis Club will construct a clubhouse with the help of a $60 219 grant.
MP Leahy says she is happy to provide support for anyone looking to apply for a grant.
“I regularly provide letters of support for grant applications and have a monthly funding list detailing a range of funding sources which community groups can subscribe,” she says.
