Nine people aged between 23 and 34 have each been charged with two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and one count of entering a dwelling with intent following the stabbing incident at Wilsonton in Toowoomba at the weekend.
Detectives charged the nine after a woman was found with stab wounds to the chest at her MacGregor St. home on Sunday afternoon.
She was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital but died a short time later.
All Nine cases were mentioned in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court this morning (Monday).
No one appeared and there have been no applications for bail made. The cases have been adjourned until tomorrow.
Police say more charges are likely to be laid in relation to the matter.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Lawyer Kevin Rose says he’s representing five of the accused and says more charges are now likely.
“I haven’t been told that but given there’s a deceased person there is a possibility.”
